Central Huron Council Approves BIA Budget

by Bob Montgomery

Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn says council approved a budget of 27-thousand dollars for the BIA.

The Central BIA is starting with a new executive this year and Chair, Hayley Bettles says, at this point they want to get back to the basics, do what they can to beautify the down town area and then add new projects after that. She says in the coming year they want to spend more money on flowers for the downtown core in hopes of encouraging more people who drive through the town to stop and visit for a while. She says there is a lot of traffic through town now, they just have to find a way to get more people to stop and look around and they're hoping more flowers as part of a beautification strategy will help with that.
