Central Huron Recognizes Youth with New Award

By Bob Montgomery

The Municipality of Central Huron has announced a new award to recognize exceptional young people in the community.

Mayor Jim Ginn says Councillor Jennifer Cox presented the idea to council. Ginn says the idea was that a lot of students are awarded bursaries and scholarships every year for academic achievement. But they wanted to recognize young people who stand out for other things like community service and volunteering for projects in their community. So this new award will be something apart from the awards being handed out at the high schools.
