Huron County's Immigration Partnership Wants to Hear From Newcomers About Their Experiences in Huron and Perth
By Bob Montgomery
Huron County's Immigration Partnership has launched its first survey of newcomers and immigrants to Canada.
Immigration Partnership Manager Mark Nonkes says they're asking immigrants and newcomers to Canada, regardless of when they arrived in Canada, to talk about their experiences, their struggles, the strengths they bring with them to a new country and how they feel they've contributed through their work or through volunteering in their community. Nonkes says they also wanted to hear what they felt could be improved in Huron and Perth.
Nonkes says they're working with twenty-five other organizations to try and understand the immigrant experience and to have data so that when they make a decision they can point to that data and say here's what the majority of newcomers have said is important so we need to focus on this area.
Nonkes says any immigrants or newcomers wishing to take the survey can go to https://www.huroncounty.ca/immigrantsurvey/ and take the survey there. The survey is open until November 24th and is available in English, Spanish, Arabic and Ukrainian.
